Villages in HteeChike that were hit by airstrikes are continuously being burned.
Villagers in Sagaing Division who were attacked six times by the air strike on April 24th in HteeChike Township said that the military armies are continuously burning the villages from the ground.
A local resident of HteeChike, who did not want to be named for security reasons, said that a column of about 100 people has been burning the villages of Tawma, Maya thein, Phone Kone, Sin Phyu Sake (East) continuously since April 24th.
"Before April 24th, both sides fought in a battle. Then the planes started dropping bombs. From that day until now, the column has not returned and is burning the villages again that were hit by airstrikes."
Residents said that nearly a hundred homes in the villages of Tawma, Maya thein, Phone Kone may have been destroyed by fire, and they cannot return into the villages yet.
It is said that on April 26th, Sin Phyu Sake (East) village was set on fire by the military council, and the details of the damage were not yet known.
It is said that nearly 4,000 local residents of those four villages have already fled their homes.
The local residents of HteeChike said that there was a battle between the military council troops and the local defense forces that were patrolling the village of Sin Phyu Sake (East) this morning on April 26th.
In March of 2023, according to the Data For Myanmar, an independent research group, since the military coup till the February 20th of 2023 47,778 homes were burned down in Sagaing Division.
