During the trip of U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of the Union Hluttaw Representative Committee, to Washington, the United States, he met and discussed with people who deserve to meet.


On March 12th, the representative committee of the Union Hluttaw released a press release.

"Union Hluttaw Representative Committee Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt arrived on a working trip to Washington DC from March 7th to 9th in order to obtain effective support from the American government and international organizations in the United States for Myanmar's democracy movement and to increase bilateral cooperation."

During the trip, the consultant of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Derek Chollet, United States Senate Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Appropriations; Senator Chris Van Hollen, National Democratic Institute (NDI) were in the meeting with Union Hluttaw Representative Committee Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt and It was reported from the Union Hluttaw Representative Committee that they had a meeting with officials from international aid organizations including the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
