2023 Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, winner of the 14th People's Honor Award, donated a ten thousand honorary cash (dollar) presented by the People's Honors Association back to the CDM staff through the NUG government.
Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, who was awarded the People's Honor Award for this year, donated ten thousand US dollars to CDM employees through the NUG government.
The 14th People's Honor Ceremony was held in the United States of America. It was held yesterday evening in Los Angeles. At the ceremony, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, the Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, who has been selected as the winner of this year's People's Honor Award, personally attended and accepted the award.
"This award was given to me, but I believe that it was given to the people who are doing the revolution, especially the CDMs, who are working in various ways for this revolution, so this award is an award given to the people," said the ambassador.
At yesterday's award ceremony, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun received the People's Merit Medal, but the People's Merit Association announced that it will continue to donate the US $10,000 prize to CDM employees through the NUG government as per his wish.
The award ceremony was held by NUG Government Minister of Education Dr. Zaw Wai Soe. Some monks and expatriates from Myanmar, including the Minister of Communications, Information and Technology, U Tin Lin Aung, attended and shouted anti-military slogans.
Since 2009, the People's Honor Society has selected individuals from Myanmar society who have self-sacrificingly and energetically participated in social activities.
In the past years, the People's Honor Award was given out annually and other awards were added as appropriate, but this year, due to the various situations faced during the Myanmar Spring Revolution, only one People's Honor Award was chosen and honored, said the People's Honors Association.
After the coup dictatorship in 2021, the People's Honor Club is an organization related to the revolution every year. Individuals were announced as People's Honor Award winners, and the People's Honor Award for 2021 was dedicated to the entire "Spring Revolution" movement.
