Two Resistance Fighters Beheaded, Two Shot Dead in Chone Gyi Village Raid, Taungtha Township

At 6:20 AM on September 17, two revolutionary fighters were beheaded, and two others were shot dead during a military raid on Chone Gyi village, Taungtha Township, in Mandalay Region. The raid took place on the morning of September 16, when the military and Pyu Saw Hti militia members, dressed in civilian clothing, entered the village.

According to a revolutionary source, six fighters on guard duty were arrested during the raid. "Two fighters were beheaded, and two others were shot dead. The remaining two are missing," said the source.

The same source provided details about the subsequent clash: "After some of our comrades were arrested, revolutionary forces surrounded the village, and a battle followed. The military called in air support, dropping six bombs from jet fighters while a Mi-35 helicopter fired about five rounds. I also heard that one pregnant woman was killed in the explosions."

The source further claimed that the military and Pyu Saw Hti militia continued their operations: "They are still raiding, looting, and burning the village, with many houses caught in the fire."

Chone Gyi village, located near the Myingyan steel mill on the border of Myingyan town and Taungtha Township, has seen ongoing fighting. Heavy weapons stationed at the steel mill were reportedly fired during the raid. The junta forces and Pyu Saw Hti militia, led by Thida Yumon, continue their offensive, forcing residents to flee the area.
