Two Killed in Ywama Village Bomb Attack, Toungup Township, Rakhine State

A bomb attack by the junta's armed group resulted in the deaths of two people, including a six-year-old child, in Ywama Village, Toungup Township, Rakhine State, on September 24. The attack involved the detonation of four bombs, which also left three others injured.


Located approximately 15 miles from Toungup, Ywama is a sub-township with a population of over 5,000 residents. The assailants targeted the village, reportedly believing there were soldiers from the Arakan Army (AA) present.


Toungup city remains under the control of the military council following a coup, and tensions between the military and the AA continue. Local residents have reported that military guards have taken up positions at Toungup University.
