Twelve Killed in Ngazun Township Bombing by Junta Forces

At least 12 people, including 10 civilians and 2 resistance fighters, were killed in a bombing attack on a village in Ngazun Township, Mandalay Region, late on September 20.

According to reports from local sources, the attack occurred at around 5:00 p.m. when junta forces bombed and fired at Ngan Myar Gyi village without any provocation. The village had been under the control of resistance forces.

“They attacked using a jet fighter with no ground confrontation. The first bomb was dropped, and then another round followed, while simultaneously firing two rockets three times. In total, six rockets were fired, two bombs were dropped, and machine guns were used,” said a resistance fighter.

The attack resulted in the deaths of 10 civilians and two resistance fighters, with 20 other civilians injured.

It was also reported that on August 19, resistance forces had taken control of Ngan Myar Gyi from the Pyu Sawhti militia, which may have been a trigger for the recent attack.
