Three Bombings in Lashio, Northern Shan State, Injure Prisoners

On October 24, 2024, the city of Lashio in northern Shan State, under the control of the Kokang Army (MNDAA), was bombed three times by military forces. A local source reported that the airstrikes caused injuries among prisoners at the city’s police station and prison.


The first bombing occurred in the village of Khosantan early in the morning, targeting a liquor factory and igniting a fire. Later in the day, at around 3:00 p.m., two additional bombs were dropped near the police station and the prison in Lashio, affecting the prisoners inside. The ground source provided initial information about the attacks to the BBC.
