The National Unity Government announced that it has provided 238.7 million kyats of aid to the people affected by the MOCHA storm.



The National Unity Government, along with photographs of township-specific assistance, said that from the time before Typhoon MOCHA hit until June 2nd, 238.7 million Kyats had been provided in aid to the people affected by the storm. It has been released by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.


On May 14th, due to the extremely strong cyclone "MOCHA", damage and loss occurred that hit Rakhine State, Chin State, Sagaing, and Magway regions.


As the ministry, the areas affected by Cyclone "MOCHA" are providing emergency food and shelter. It is reported that 238.7 million Kyats are being supported for emergency relief and rehabilitation activities, including the provision of Cyclone Emergency Preparedness Kits.


The areas affected by the storm are the respective provincial advisory councils, Ethnic Revolutionary Alliances, In charge of township administration, social organizations that are personally serving on the ground. Working together with volunteers, emergency needs such as food, shelter. Health care services are being provided.


In addition to this, the statement stated that efforts are being made to meet the needs of the damaged electricity poles, the damage to the agricultural sector necessary for the initial recovery, and the street bridge by the relevant ministries of the National Unity Government.

In addition, the ministry said that it is continuing to implement emergency shelter support activities for 16,381 homes damaged in Rakhine State and 2,917 homes damaged in Chin State due to the storm.
