The mobile tower was broken, and the phone line was down in Sittwe
On May 14th in Sittwe, Rakhine State, which is affected by Storm MOCHA, a mobile tower collapsed, and mobile phone lines were down, residents said.
Residents of Sittwe have also shared photos of tree fall, a video of the damage to homes, and a video of the storm on Facebook.
According to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department's announcement at 12:30 p.m., the extremely strong Cyclone MOCHA is crossing the Rakhine coastal areas from near Sittwe and has been declared a brown level.
The maximum wind speed of the storm can reach 137 miles per hour, and the Meteorology and Hydrology Department predicts that it may continue to move to the north-northeast Sagaing Division, Magway, Chin State, and Kachin State.
