The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release regarding the official itinerary of Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung's visit to the country Timor-Leste.
It is reported that political agreements have been successfully discussed including continued cooperation between the two countries.
According to the official invitation of the President of Timor-Leste (East Timor), National Unity Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on July 10th regarding the visit of the delegation led by Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung.
In the press release, Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung made an official visit to Timor Leste from July 1st to 5th. Being able to build stronger relations with neighboring countries.
It is stated that the purpose of the visit was to increase Myanmar's role in regional organizations.
It is also reported that during the trip, the delegation led by the Union Minister met with the President of Timor Leste, Prime Minister, and the officials including foreign ministers.
The delegation led by the Union Minister attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new government of Timor-Leste held on July 1st. It is stated that they met with the officials and the regional leaders as well.
In his speech, the President of Timor-Leste, Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung, U Lin Thant, representative of the National Unity Government of the Czech Republic, were included in his speech.
On July 3rd, the Union Minister met with the President of Timor Leste, José Ramos-Horta and had a friendly meeting in his office for over an hour.
The Union Minister presented a portrait of State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi for the President of Timor Leste. They met and discussed with Ms Maria Fernanda Lay at the office of the independent chairman as well.
The Union Minister and delegation continued to meet with government officials during their official trip to Timor-Leste. On July 4th, they met with Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Bendito dos Santos Freitas and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Timor Leste. And In the morning of July 5th, they met with the Prime Minister of Timor Leste, H.E. Mr. Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão and the prime minister's office. They had a meeting and held discussions with other relevant officials as well.
As the country of Timor-Leste emerged from the people's revolution, The country's leaders, who are the leaders of the people's revolution, met with the Union Minister of Myanmar, who encouraged and supported the revolution of the people in Myanmar, warmly welcomed the delegation and shared their experiences.
The Union Minister and his team left Timor-Leste on July 5th and were greeted by Timor-Leste officials.
The official trip to Timor-Leste led by the Union Minister was successfully completed, including the continued cooperation between the two countries. The statement said that political agreements were successfully negotiated.
The statement also stated that the Ministry has been working to build friendship with neighboring countries since the establishment of the ministry and will continue to make efforts to increase relations and cooperation as the first priority.
