The military council is accelerating their attacks in the Shan-Kaya region
The Myanmar Institute for Strategic and Policy Studies (ISP-Myanmar) announced today on April 10th that the military council is accelerating its military attacks on the Shan-Kayah border region.
In addition to the fact that the local defense forces dominate the area in those areas, from that the military in Nay Pyi Taw can be threatened and thus, the attacks are being carried out from the military side.
The main targets of the attack are the cities of SharTaw, BawLaKhel, DeMawSoe, PhelKhone and Pinlong.
In the past two months, martial law has been declared in those areas. After that, there were at least 82 fights within just two months. According to ISP-Myanmar data, the number of fights has tripled compared to the time before martial law was declared.
The Karenni Army (KA), Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF); People's Defense Forces (PDF) military bases are also based in those areas.
He said that despite the military council's attacks, the Karenni Army has not yet lost any territory.
The fighting between the two sides is still at a high speed. ISP-Myanmar also said that there is no prospect of the battle slowing down.
In the past two months, the number of war-affected refugees has increased by more than twenty-six thousand, and there are now nearly three hundred thousand war-affected refugees in the same region.
