Tens of thousands of local residents have to flee to the north of Kalay Township as the military council marches.

Local people have been fleeing as the military council has been patrolling the northern part of Kalay Township since March 30th. Locals have reported that a resident died in a motorcycle accident while fleeing.

"The deceased is from Mouk Lin village. He fell off his motorcycle while fleeing from the war. I think he was injured internally, but nothing else happened. He didn't even go to the hospital. He died with a black stomach," said a local.

A column of around 100 members of the military council, including Pyu Saw Htee from the dam and the school building north of Kalay Township, entered the northern part of Kalay Township in the early morning of March 30th.

The details of the damage during the contact battle between the two sides are yet unknown.

On the night of March 30th, the military council column spent the night around the old village of Nang Saung Pu, and today, on the morning of March 31st, there was a fight between the old village of Nang Saung Pu and Pyin Taw Oo village with members of the local defense forces.

"I could hear the sound of gunshots so loudly that I ran towards the village because I didn't want to stay in the forest anymore," said a farmer working in the northern part of Kalaty township.

According to the local residents, the military council column opened fire on Lett Pan Chaung village and Pyin Taw Oo village with heavy weapons this morning.

"Maw Lin, Chan Thar Gyi, Lett Pan Chaung and the children of the roadside villages all ran yesterday," he said. Today, locals from Pyin Taw Oo village had to run, there are tens of thousands of people running," said a local.

According to those helping to flee the war, only a small number of people from the northern part of Kalay Township, where the military council is fighting, were able to escape to Kalay township
