Taungoo Airbase Hit by Rocket Attack: Four Dead, Aircraft Destroyed

Four soldiers were reportedly killed and eight injured after a rocket attack on the Taungoo Airbase in Bago Region.


Under the leadership of the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM), the NSA31 Urban Guerrilla Group and the Sittoung River Allied Long Campaign carried out the attack on Taungoo Airbase on the night of October 20, around 8:30 PM, using three 107mm rockets. BWM reported that two rockets successfully hit their targets. This attack, BWM’s 24th mission, marks the second strike against the Taungoo Airbase.


BWM further stated that one of the rockets landed on a vehicle storage facility, while the other struck the aircraft hangar, causing damage. BWM said that two air force officers and six other soldiers sustained serious injuries, and four soldiers, including a senior air force officer, were killed. Additionally, it was reported that one helicopter and Y-12 bomber aircraft were also damaged.
