School Bus Fire in Thailand Kills 25

A bus carrying students on the outskirts of Thailand’s capital Bangkok caught fire and exploded in Pathum Thani District on the afternoon of October 1, resulting in 25 deaths and 16 injuries, according to a statement from the Thai government.

The bus was carrying students from Wat Khao Phaya school in Uthai Thani’s Lan Sak district for a field trip to Bangkok when one of its front tires burst, causing the driver to lose control and collide with metal barriers, leading to the fire and explosion, as reported by The Nation.

The bus had a total of 44 passengers, including students and teachers. Twenty-five individuals were trapped inside and died, while 19 others managed to escape, with more than ten suffering injuries.

The students on board were reported to be students ranging from kindergarten to Grade 4 levels.
