Revolutionary Forces Capture Military Junta’s Frontline Outpost in Shwegyin Township, Bago Region: 5 Junta Soldiers Killed Including Officer

On August 31, at approximately 11:00 AM, joint revolutionary forces successfully captured the military junta's frontline outpost in Kone Myint Thar village, Shwegyin Township, Bago Region. The operation was conducted by the 9th Battalion of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), No. 3702 Battalion of the People’s Defense Force (PDF), No. 1805 Special Drone Unit, and the PDF Spring Warrior Column, under the Southern Military Command's No. 2 Sub-Regional Command. The outpost was taken within six minutes following a coordinated drone strike and ground assault.

During the battle, five junta soldiers, including one officer, were killed, and many others were injured. The remaining troops fled, abandoning the base. The revolutionary forces seized a significant amount of heavy and small arms, ammunition, and over 400 bags of rice.

An official from the Southern Military Command said that the junta soldiers at the Kone Myint Thar outpost were the same ones who had previously fled from another outpost in Baw Ka Hta village in the same township after it was seized by revolutionary forces.
