The coup army dropped two bombs on Nawnghkio city in Northern Shan State, Myanmar on August 15th, around 2:00 PM, causing widespread fear among residents that the bombs may have contained chemical agents due to the large amount of smoke they produced.
According to local sources, the first bomb exploded in the air, emitting significant amounts of smoke, leading residents to suspect it could be a chemical gas bomb. The second bomb detonated near the Railway Station Ward. However, the full extent of the damage and any casualties remain unclear due to heavy rainfall, which has made it difficult for people to leave their homes and assess the situation.
Residents in Nawnghkio, who have been conducting a mobile market that shifts from place to place, reported that the bombs were dropped not far from where they were currently set up.
Nawnghkio Township had recently come under attack and was occupied by the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), which has begun to establish its administration in the region.
