QUAD Alliance released Joint Statement on Burmese Issues

On 29th July, the QUAD group, which includes The United States, Australia, Japan and India, said that they concerned about the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation Politics in Myanmar.


The ongoing conflicts and instability in Myanmar, including the situation in Rakhine state, have had a negative impact on peace and security in the region, it was expressed after the meeting of foreign ministers of the QUAD group in Tokyo, Japan.


They urged to stop the violence immediately, to release all those who have been unjustly arrested, to access all humanitarian aid safely, crisis resolution through inclusive and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders and to return to the path of inclusive democracy.



They also said that they support the positive efforts of the ASEAN Chairman and the ASEAN Special Representative for Myanmar in accordance with ASEAN 5 point consensus for Myanmar.


Due to Myanmar's situation, neighboring countries concern has also been expressed about cyber crime, the rise of transnational crime, including the illegal drug trade and human trafficking.


Th QUAD team also appealed to prevent the importation of jet fuel and military equipment the Military Council. They reiterated its commitment to provide practical and positive long-term assistance and support to the Burmese people.
