Public Strike in Yangon Against Commodity Price Hike and Conscription Law

A public strike took place in Yangon on Thursday evening, with citizens protesting against the skyrocketing commodity prices and opposing conscription laws.

The protest, which occurred on a major road in Yangon, was coordinated by the Youth Strike Committee (YSC), the Shwe Pyi Tha Strike Committee (SPTSC), and the Anti-Military Yangon Force (AJAY).

The demonstrators expressed their frustration over the rising cost of living, urging the authorities to address the economic crisis while rejecting the imposition of conscription. The root cause of the problem is the military dictatorship, and efforts are needed to eliminate it. As soon as the strike began, it was learned that the people around the road joined together to surround it.
