Sources close to the court said that among the cases in which President U Win Myint and State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi were imprisoned, more than 10 appeals and special appeals to the Supreme Court of the Union will be heard in July,



On July 5th, there will be a hearing at the Union Supreme Court to prepare criminal charges for the two cases of election fraud, Section-130 (a) of the Penal Code and Section-3 (1) (c) of the Government Secrets Act.


On July 12th, there will be the appeal of five corruption cases related to the purchase and lease of helicopters under the National League for Democracy NLD government.

The Union Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing on July 18th for the special appeal of the Penal Code Section 505 (b) case against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint and Nay Pyi Taw Mayor Dr. Mya Aung.



On the day of the military coup, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's house was found with a walkie-talkie and a jammer, thus, the case hearing on that regard will be also on July 18th.

Also, on the same day, the special appeal of the two cases under Section-25 of the Law on Natural Disaster Management, alleged against Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, will be heard as well.

The 78-year-old Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is serving a 33-year sentence in a private building in Nay Pyi Taw Prison for 19 cases accused by the military council.

71-year-old President U Win Myint has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for eight cases accused by the military council and has been detained in Taung Ngu prison in Bago region.
