Over 70 Killed in Battle for Pinlebu Town in Sagaing Region

More than 70 individuals were killed in the battle to seize the town of Pinlebu in the Sagaing Region. Over 150 prisoners of war and defectors were captured, and more than 400 weapons were confiscated.


The battle for Pinlebu began on August 15th and concluded with its capture on October 8th. The military reportedly suffered 70 fatalities, with 275 personnel listed as missing and 225 injured. Among the injured, 60 are in critical condition. Additionally, 48 defectors and 102 prisoners of war were taken captive.


Reports indicate that terrorist soldiers were found to be using drugs, with 18 packs of raw opium discovered at a military base police station. Authorities seized 1,352 heroin soap cups and 1,285 small packages of heroin.


More than 400 various weapons and a large amount of ammunition were confiscated from the military council.


The terrorist army reportedly conducted over 670 airstrikes on the town of Pinlebu, dropping more than 5,000 bombs throughout the conflict.
