Only 10 political prisoners were released from Pyay and Paungde prison.
People close to the prison said that more than 150 prisoners were released from Pyay and Paungde in western Bago, but only ten political prisoners were included.
Reportedly, 101 prisoners from the Pyay prison were released, including political prisoners Ko Myo Nyein Zaw, Ko Kyaw Swar Moe, Ko Min Min Oo, Ko Phyo Thu Aung, and Daw Sandar Moe. And also 54 prisoners were released from Paungde Prison, including political prisoners Ko Thet Zaw Oo, Ko Chit Oo Maung, Ko Yan Naung Soe, Ko Wai Yan Oo, and Ko Chit Hmwe.
A person close to the prison said that most of those who have been released now include those who will be released soon. "They said that they will be released in less than six months. There are still many political prisoners inside. There are still more than a hundred political prisoners who are still facing trial and serving prison terms in the Paungde prison and more than two hundred political prisoners in Pyay prison.
The military council announced the prisoners in various prisons across the country to commemorate the first full moon day of Waso, and the release of 7,749 people, including an unknown number of political prisoners.
