New York's Revolutionary Thingyan fundraiser raised more than thirty thousand dollars.
On 29th April, NYCBC, which organized the event, announced that more than US $30,000 for support of the revolution was collected at the revolutionary Thingyan festival held in New York City, United States of America.
Reportedly, a watercolor painting of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi painted by Myanmar artists, a pencil portrait of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi drawn by singer Kyaw Thiha and cotton bags with paintings drawn by actor Daung were sold at auction.
Revolutionary Thingyan songs, Traditional Burmese Thingyan dances were performed, and traditional Burmese desserts were sold, and the UN Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun also attended the fundraising event.
