More than 3,000 households in the eastern part of Dagon Myothit City are affected by the flood.
According to relief workers, more than 3,000 households living in Dagon Myothit (east), Yangon are affected by the flood and need emergency food.
It is said that the water falling back from Hlegu Township is entering the eastern quarters of Dagon Myothit through the Nga Moe Yeik to more than four feet. Ten wards and five villages that are inundated are in urgent need of food and clean water. "As for neighborhoods, there are floods in wards 126, 155, 132, 156, 123, 124, 137, 138, 118, and 119, as well as the villages of Kyuchaung Village, Malit, Kyar Nikan, Daw Pyar, and Okpho Village. The water depth is more than four feet. The low-lying neighborhoods are still completely submerged, so they urgently need food."
On October 10, water started entering the neighborhoods in Dagon Myothit (east). On October 19, the water rose to more than four feet. On October 20, the water level dropped to about six inches this morning.
The relief workers said that as there are no flood centers open for those affected by the flood, people in some low-lying neighborhoods that may be at risk have been moved to safe places.
