More than 1,500 people died in the massacre, the research group report
As of April of 2023, 1,592 people have died due to mass killings by the military council troops across the country, according to the Nyan Lin New Research Group on May 26th.
It is also known that the soldiers of the military council committed at least 147 massacres of at least five people.

Among them, 508 people were killed, with 32 percent of mass casualties due to airstrikes.
According to the Nyan Lin New Research Group, the townships where the massacre took place were Wet Lek, Yin Ma Pin, Kalay, Kanbalu, Pharkant and Bago where 217 people died in Kanbalu, 83 in PharKant and 82 in Bago.
