More than 1,400 civilians are fleeing because of heavy weapons in the area of KNU 3rd Brigade.


The KNU announced that two civilians were injured and more than 1,400 people were fleeing on July 2 when the military council troops opened fire on villages in Mue township under the control of the 3rd Brigade.



He said that 32 heavy weapons were fired into the villages of Yaytwinkone, Ushikone, and Ohmpinsu, injuring 42-year-old Saw Soe Moe Khaing and 30-year-old Saw Khadu from Yaytwinkone village, as well as destroying four houses and a cattle shed.


According to the statement, 1,456 residents of 291 houses in the three villages were forced to flee due to heavy gunfire.

On June 30, a civilian was killed by the heavy weapons of the military council in Myawaddy and KyarInnSakeGyi townships. Locals said two people were injured.


After the military coup, about 600,000 civilians fled KNU-controlled areas due to offensive attacks by military council troops and aerial attacks.
