Military junta forces killed six civilians and set fire to 200 houses in Sipar village, Budalin Township, Sagaing Region, according to local sources. The bodies of the six civilians were found on October 19, alongside the destruction of 200 homes after the junta forces withdrew.
Sipar village is close to the area where people’s defense forces ambushed a military convoy returning from Kudaw village on September 30.
According to locals, the military entered Sipa village during a recent clearance operation, where Defense Forces attacked them with landmines, resulting in casualties among the troops. In retaliation, the military killed civilians and burned homes.
Along the route of their marching, the junta forces killed at least a dozen local villagers and abducted many civilians, as reported by those who are assisting displaced people.
