At around 8 a.m. on September 26, an airstrike by the military junta targeted residential areas near the City Hall and the Environmental Conservation Department in Rakhine State's Thandwe Township, killing 14 civilians and injuring more than 25, as confirmed by the Arakan Army (AA) to the BBC.
According to AA spokesperson U Khine Thukha, two bombs each were dropped on the City Hall and the Environmental Conservation Department, both of which are located in Ward 8.
Most of the deceased were women, children, and elderly individuals who had taken refuge in the Environmental Conservation Office.
