Military Junta Airstrikes Kill 20 Civilians Across Rakhine State

Military airstrikes across Ann, Thandwe, and Toungup townships have resulted in the deaths of at least 20 civilians over recent days, according to local sources.


On October 29, at 6:00 p.m., the Military Council launched an aerial attack on Ann Township, killing 10 civilians, including women and children, and injuring 20 others. Airstrikes reportedly continued in Ann Township through November 1, although the current casualty count remains unknown.


The following day, on October 30, fighter jets bombed Toungup Township, killing five people and wounding five others, residents confirmed.


In Thandwe Township, the Military Council carried out consecutive airstrikes on October 29 and October 30. The bombardment seriously injured a monk from Singaung village and damaged the village monastery.


The village of Singaung has been subjected to frequent air attacks by the military, with an airplane strike on October 25 injuring multiple civilians.
