KNPP informs those who want to do CDM to contact them quickly.
On August 31, the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) stated that people who want to defect from Kayah, Karenni, and the whole country, military council soldiers who want to do CDM police, the interior staff officials, and other levels to contact the CDM Supervisory Committee as soon as possible.
They said that as the CDM Supervisory Committee, they are officially connecting with international organizations, the National Unity Government, including ethnic armed groups. Additionally, the project committee announced that the weapons and ammunition that came with those who want to do CDM will be officially handed over to the relevant Karenni Army and township troops.
At a parliamentary session held on April 18, Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than of the National Unity Government (NUG) said that nearly ten thousand military council soldiers have joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM). Last month, more than 50 military council officers, including their families, conducted CDM in Kayah State.
The military council has classified those who do CDM as deserters and they made propaganda within the army last June as CDM deserters, but the CDM military officers have objected to this.
