The last remaining camp of the military in Chipwi, Kachin State, was captured by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA). A ground military source reported that the camp was set ablaze during the assault.

At 5:00 a.m. on September 29, joint forces of the KIA and Kachin People's Defense Force (KPDF) launched an attack on the 4th Mile Joint Checkpoint Camp and a strategic hilltop camp near Chipwi Police Station.

"Chipwi town has been fully taken. According to the latest information, the strategic hill has also been captured, the military has been driven out, and KIA now controls all camps in the area. The number of captured soldiers and the condition of seized weapons are still being verified," a KIA spokesperson stated.
