KIA and Allies Capture Two Cities, 13 Military Camps in Kachin Offensive

In a span of five days in Kachin State, KIA-affiliated groups launched a series of attacks, capturing two cities and 13 military camps. Between September 29 and October 3, KIA, PDF, and joint forces seized control of 13 military bases and two cities held by the military under the control of the Terrorist Military Council. A significant amount of weapons and ammunition were confiscated. On September 29, Chipwi City fell, followed by the capture of Tsawlaw on October 2.


“In one week, we captured two cities and 13 military camps. During the operations in Chipwi City, Shangot Village, and Tsawlaw City, we seized a large cache of weapons and ammunition. There were significant casualties among the military, and we also took prisoners of war,” a KIA source reported.
