On the 76th anniversary of the Karenni Army (KA/KNDF) in Myanmar, Commander-in-chief Major-General Aung Myat urged his revolutionary comrades to maintain military discipline, follow orders, and respect public and customary laws. Addressing the youth engaged in the struggle against the military dictatorship, he emphasized the importance of responsibility and accountability, as they will be the future leaders of the country.
Major-General Aung Myat highlighted the unprecedented level of national solidarity at this time, urg
ing his comrades to capitalize on this unity to work with other ethnic groups in shaping their destiny and achieving their political goals. He reminded the youth to act with perception rather than emotion and to take their roles seriously, stressing that the revolution must continue with responsibility in mind.
Reflecting on the ongoing struggle for democracy, equality, and self-determination, which has yet to be realized after more than 70 years, he called for a continued collective effort. He warned against acting against the will of the people during the People's Revolution and cautioned against the influence of opportunists and self-serving politicians. Finally, he advised political parties in Karenni State to avoid reliance on external dependencies.
