Junta drops over 100 bombs on Hsipaw and Nawnghkio towns in Northern Shan State

The TNLA reported that fighting was ongoing in Hsipaw and Nawnghkio, and that the coup army had carried out 18 airstrikes, dropping more than 100 bombs. On August 11th, fighting between the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the coup army took place in Taungkham village and Mekmanantaw village in Nawnghkio Township. Reports indicate that the TNLA was heavily engaged with the 902nd Artillery Battalion in Taungkham village and the 302nd Light Infantry Battalion under the 99th Light Infantry Division in Mekmanantaw village, as well as with the 325th Infantry Battalion under the Northeast Command and the 306th Light Infantry Battalion under the Central Command.




During the battle in Nawnghkio town, the coup army launched three airstrikes using fighter jets and the Y-12 support planes, dropped in three separate attacks in total 20 bombs. Fighting also continued at the 23rd Infantry Battalion in Hsipaw, where the coup army made 12 sorties with Y-12 planes, dropping a total of 85 bombs. The Y-12 aircraft also dropped supply bundles there.
