Junta Airstrikes and Fires Destroy Nearly 200 Homes in Kachin State

On September 16th. Between 12:30 and 2:30 PM, airstrikes were launched on the Eucalyptus Forest near Uru Creek in Ward 4, Sai Taung, marking the 10th day of the ongoing battle in the area.


Fighting between the two sides remains intense, with reports indicating that the military has taken hostages and committed killings while stationed at the Lucky Man Hotel in Sai Taung. In addition to bombing, the junta, alongside the Shan Ni Army (SNA), burned approximately 150 to 200 homes, leaving many destroyed.


Reports suggest that Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Kachin People’s Defense Force (KPDF) troops have successfully captured 19 military camps in Hpakant Township, with only 9 junta-held camps remaining.
