In Chin State, Hakha Township, 15 houses in Vantalan village were destroyed due to the military council's air strike.
According to sources, 15 residential houses were damaged due to the bomb attack by the council army on Vantalan village on May 2nd.
"No one was hurt since the convoy came from the Gangaw side, people in the village have been avoiding it," said a member of the revolution in Chin State.
On the morning of May 1, the military junta army, from Gangaw town towards Hakha in a column, and the CNA and the CDF joint forces were involved in a battle near the village of Vantalan, so the military council troops were wounded, and the airstrikes were carried out.
Around twenty soldiers of the military junta were killed in the battle, and nine guns, including ammunition and phones, were reportedly seized by the joint defense force.
"It's needless to say that 15 houses have been destroyed. They were shaking until the evening," said a member of the revolution from the Yaw area in Chin State.
It is reported that the military junta had planned to bomb Vantalan village that day, as well as the forests where the joint defense forces were thought to be.
Since the military council is losing ground in battles, Chin State is planning to bomb the civilian areas. Therefore, in April, they bombed the 4th camp of the CNA Brigade in TiTain Township, which were not a military target, in Waibula Township, Falang Township. They bombed Talanlo village, Mintat township, and Panwa villages in Tantalan Township.
The Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) has reported that there have been around 200 airstrikes and more than 350 bombs in Chin State in more than 2 years since the military coup.
As a result of these attacks, 40 civilians, including local defense soldiers, were killed and more than 100 were injured.
In April, 21 people in Chin State were killed, more than 40 were injured, and around 50 homes, including a church, were destroyed due to the military council's bombardment.
From February 2021 to February 28, 2023, more than 60,000 houses were burned across the country, including nearly 1,500 in Chin State.
In addition, after the military coup, the total number of people who fled the war reached 2,694,567, and there are already more than 100,000 people who have fled the war in Chin State.
There are 47 towns under martial law in the whole country, and out of nine townships in Chin State, except Paletwa Township, which is connected to Rakhine State, the remaining eight townships have been declared under martial law by the Military Junta.
