Historic Seizure: Record 59 Weapons Confiscated After Major Clash in Anyar Region

For the first time in Myanmar's Upper Land, Anyar Region, a record number of weapons surrendered by a terrorist group have been confiscated—59 in total. On September 30th, a column of approximately 80 terrorist soldiers from Kuu Taw camp was ambushed by joint forces comprising the Budalin Township People's Defence Organization (PDO) and Monywa District's No. 20 Battalion. The attack resulted in 35 soldiers killed and 46 taken as prisoners of war.

A total of 57 small arms, two 60mm mortars, two drones, one large jumper, and numerous bullets were seized. This was the first battle in the Anyar Region plains where an entire column of the terrorist army was completely annihilated. A source from the township PDO stated that the incident highlights the inability of new, forcibly recruited soldiers to perform in combat.
