Guerrilla strike marks eight years since democratic education picket line was broken up in Yangon, where military security is tight.

On the morning of March 9, youths from the revolutionary forces staged a guerrilla strike against the military coup in Yangon City, where military council soldiers are checking security.
This strike column was organized by the Federation of Burma National Student Unions (Bakatha Federation), New People's Democratic Party (DPNS), The Young People's Society (YNS) and the Mungal Taung Nyunt Village Strike Committee jointly celebrated the 8th anniversary of the violent suppression of the Democratic Education Strike Column.
In today's demonstration, they carried out a campaign against the military dictatorship, holding a banner reading "End war, join the fight for people's democracy."
Last March 10th, 2015, the police force violently demolished the Democratic Education Strike Military School in Leppangtan Town, and more than 100 students and surrounding people were arrested in Tharayawati Prison.
