A Myanmar couple living in Thailand won 12 million baht after purchasing lottery tickets, despite the husband being unemployed.
The couple, originally from Mandalay Region, Myanmar, previously worked at a computer parts factory in Chonburi. However, he lost his job when the factory deemed him too old for continued employment. With no steady income, he took up daily chores at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep to support himself and his wife.
Their fortunes changed when a lottery ticket vendor visited the monastery. Hoping for a better future, the husband bought two lottery tickets. In a remarkable twist of fate, both tickets won the first prize in the Thai lottery, earning the couple a total of 12 million baht.
The couple expressed their gratitude for the life-changing windfall, saying it would transform their future.
