Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's poor health

State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who is being held in Nay Pyi Taw prison, is in poor health, VOA Myanmar news agency reported, quoting a community close to Nay Pyi Taw.

Aung San Suu Kyi, who is 79 years old, got drunk and fainted in prison a few days ago and went to meet the chief medical officer of the prison.

However, the community close to Nay Pyi Taw said that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's teeth were covered, and that her request for permission to visit an external dentist due to toothache was rejected.

In 2022, the military council sentenced Aung San Suu Kyi to prison on 19 charges, including corruption. She has not been allowed to see her lawyers since December.

Last August, the military council reduced Aung San Suu Kyi's prison sentence to six years.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's son Maung Tin Lin (aka Kim Aris) has requested the military council to allow him to meet his mother, but he has not been allowed to meet until now.
