The number of military junta soldiers, militiamen, and military family members who surrendered following the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) capturing the Northeastern Regional Military Command headquarters in Lashio, northern Shan State, has surpassed 1,000.

An MNDAA frontline source confirmed that after capturing the headquarters around 12:00 p.m. on August 3, the number of soldiers, militiamen, and military family members who surrendered by raising white flags is estimated to be around 1,000, though the exact number has not yet been verified as they are scattered. The source noted that the number could be higher since some junta soldiers and their families are still fleeing in disarray.

Currently, the entire Northeastern Regional Military Command headquarters is under the control of the MNDAA and allied forces, who are conducting area clearance operations. Despite some exchange of gunfire, there was no major battle, and the MNDAA source stated they had successfully secured complete control over the area.
