Columbia University, USA Teachers College invited Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun to discuss Myanmar politics
United States Columbia University in New York City; Teachers College has specially invited Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of the United Nations to Myanmar, to hold a discussion on Myanmar politics.
The discussion was specially invited by Professor Doctor Judy Kuriansky from Columbia University, Teachers College and PhD Graduate students and Master Degree students. The discussion focused on the mental health of Myanmar people who were affected by the violation of human rights due to the military coup process in Burma.
In addition, they discussed about the cases of women and children being arrested and tortured, poverty and hunger rehabilitation peace. It is reported that they asked each other questions and discussed diplomatic and technical skills for the issue of war refugees and humanitarian support.
They also discussed the roles and positions of China and Russia regarding the Myanmar issue. Those who participated were master's and doctorate students.
Those students from USA, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, India, Israel, Kuwait, Global Mental Health,Nigeria and Pakistan. and international relations are studying international comparative education and cultural relations, and they are particularly interested in the Myanmar issue.
