On the morning of September 17, Chin resistance forces attacked and captured the Lai Villa guest house, which was previously occupied by the military junta with around 30 soldiers in Thantlang, Chin State. During the attack, 7 junta soldiers were killed, while some reportedly fled with injuries. The resistance forces seized a significant amount of weapons and ammunition.
A spokesperson from the Chinland Defense Force-Thantlang (CDF-Thantlang) stated, "About 15 groups, including those operating under the Chinland government, participated in this operation. We captured a lot of weapons and ammunition. We are continuing to attack the remaining base, so success is expected soon.”
Remaining junta-controlled locations in Thantlang include the police station, CB Bank, and the National League for Democracy (NLD) township office, where over 100 junta soldiers are stationed. The resistance forces are actively attacking these three locations.
No casualties or injuries were reported among the resistance forces during the attack on the Lai Villa base.
