Battle for Thantlan Town in Chin State: Over 70 Airstrikes by Terrorist Army

On October 4th, beginning around 5:00 a.m., joint forces of the Chin State government launched an attack on terrorist army camps in Thantlan town. According to reports, the terrorist forces retaliated with over 60 airstrikes using a Y-12 plane and more than 10 strikes from a jet fighter. The fighting continued until around 6:00 p.m.


"The battle in Thantlan town has continued for 76 days under Operation Tilim-4. Throughout this period, the fighting has been relentless, with no ceasefire. Yesterday, intense clashes began around 5 a.m. and lasted until approximately 6 p.m. The army suffered significant casualties. The exact locations of the camps are still sensitive. The Y-12 plane bombed more than 60 times, while the jet fighter conducted around 10 bombing runs. Medium-sized machine guns were also employed, and air support was provided throughout the day. We are determined to capture the town," said an official from CDF Thantlan.


The operation to seize control of Thantlan town has been ongoing since July 22nd, when the Chin State government’s joint forces launched Operation Tilim-4. During the campaign, they reportedly captured three Auto Mountain camps, camps along the Thantlan-Hakha road, as well as the Lai Villa guesthouse camp, where terrorist forces have maintained a firm presence.
