Backpack Health Worker Team requests action against the military council’s attack on hospitals

The Thailand-based Backpack Health Worker Team has called for international action to be taken as soon as possible against the targeted attacks on health hospitals, clinics, and the public in Burma by the military council. Additionally, they urged them to put pressure on the military group in all ways for the immediate release of the health workers who are being unjustly arrested, they requested a statement to be issued in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Back Pack Health Worker Team on August 18th.


Due to the civil war and conflict that has been going on in Myanmar for more than 70 years, thousands of people have been forcibly relocated and fled. After the military coup in 2021, the nationwide conflict has intensified, and more than two million people have fled their homes. They also said that there is a special need for cross-border assistance and humanitarian assistance for these people.

Backpack Health Worker Team calls for the cessation of development aid and activities that serve the interests of the regime, calls for International and regional organizations to provide emergency aid, to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches those who need it through cross-border aid, to cooperate to provide aid directly to relevant organizations, to stop the international recognition of the military group completely and humanitarian aid.
