Artists’ Shelter: Supporting Artists in Exile and Hiding

Artists’ Shelter is a platform created to support artists who have been forced into exile or hiding due to political unrest, persecution, or other forms of danger. Many of these artists have had to pause their creative careers, focusing instead on survival. Artists’ Shelter aims to provide these individuals with the tools and opportunities they need to continue their work, reconnect with their audiences, and share their creations.

The initiative is designed to help a diverse group of artists, including filmmakers, musicians, photographers, actors, poets, writers, painters, performing artists, and visual artists. These individuals, often disconnected from their homes and communities, face significant challenges in continuing their artistic pursuits.

One of the primary goals of Artists’ Shelter is to reconnect exiled or hidden artists with their fans, particularly those in Myanmar. The platform will showcase their work in various forms, including music albums, short films, feature films, documentaries, books, art exhibitions, and film festivals. By providing a space for these works, Artists’ Shelter helps ensure that the creative voices of these artists are not lost. The platform also allows artists to express themselves freely, without restrictions or the need to focus solely on political or revolutionary themes.

Artists’ Shelter not only aims to showcase finished works but also provides a safe space for artists to meet, collaborate, and develop new projects. The initiative plans to offer resources such as post-production facilities, recording studios, and libraries to help artists create and release their work. This collaborative environment is designed to foster creativity and inspire new ideas, allowing artists to continue making meaningful contributions to the artistic landscape.

Artists’ Shelter continues to develop new projects and opportunities for artists in exile or hiding. Future announcements regarding projects, recruitment, and updates will be made available on the initiative’s official Facebook page and website.
