Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun met with a political science professor and students from Canada's Montmorency College
Led by Political Science Professor, Valerie Lafrance, at Montmorency College in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 26 political science students and 2 teachers/teachers, a total of 29, visited the office of the Myanmar delegation to the United Nations in New York on April 3, 2023 at 11:30 to meet with Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, the permanent representative of Myanmar.
It is reported that during the meeting, ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun talked about the crimes committed by the military against the people of Myanmar. The military is seriously violating human rights against the people of Burma attempting to seize power illegally, mass killings by groups, reckless bombing attacks on the people by airplanes making many people homeless. A tons of people's homes are being burned and destroyed by them.
Then, he gave a clarification regarding the activities of the Myanmar Permanent Representative, international humanitarian aid to Myanmar, rejection of the military coup. He went on and discussed Myanmar's current situation, including the people's revolution for the establishment of a federal democratic country if the military dictatorship ends and democracy is restored, including the future of Myanmar expected by the people of Myanmar.
After that, the professor and his team continued to discuss with the Burmese ambassador about providing assistance to Myanmar.
Then the ambassador answered some of the students' questions. With Myanmar's current revolution speeding up, political science students from international universities, law students, human rights-related students, professors, and Myanmar ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun have been meeting every once in a while. Within 2023, there were Columbia University, Tufts University, Cornell University from the United States of America, and Montmorency College from Canada.
