Amid heightened security, protesters displayed banners and raised a flag in front of Basic Education High School No. 7 in Insein Township, Yangon, to demonstrate against the military dictatorship. The banners carried the slogan โ€œDo not forget National Dayโ€”Uproot the Dictatorship!โ€ calling for public resistance.

The protest, held on November 25, was organized jointly by the New Generation Youth Strike Committee (NGYSC) and the Shwe Pyi Thar Strike Committee (SPTSC). The protest also marked the 104th anniversary of the First University Student Strike at Rangoon University (1920), observed annually as National Day, which falls on the 10th waning day of Tazaungmon in the traditional Burmese calendar.
