AAPP announced that the total number of people killed by the military during the spring revolution after the coup has reached 3,463.
A total of 3,459 people has been killed during the People's spring revolution and democracy activists opposed the military coup on 2021, February 1.
From February 2021 to 2023, April 30, there were 3,459 deaths by the military council, of which 1,163, or 34 percent of the population, were interrogated and detained in detention centers, and died while being arrested in prisons.
Since the military council seized the country’s power, the civilians who protested peacefully have been violently crushed. Deaths due to lack of access to adequate medical treatment in prison and also there were many cases where even the body was not returned.
From 2021 February to 2023 May 3, a total of (21,850) people were arrested, of which (17,846) are still being detained, according to the information of AAPP, the Association for the Protection of Political Prisoners.
AAPP reports that 5,818 of those currently in custody have been sentenced to prison terms. Those numbers are information that can be collected and confirmed by the Political Prisoners Support Association AAPP which said that the number of facts and figures that happened on the ground may be higher.
