The Ministry of Human Rights issued a statement regarding the brutal killing of civilians by a terrorist military group in Ta Tai Village, Sagaing Region.The statement is as follow,
1. In Sagaing Division 2023. On March 1st, a terrorist military group raided villages in Myeng Mu Myon and Sagaing Myon. When they rode there in Ta Tai Village, The leader of the People's Defense Force, Comrade Michael (B) Ko Kyaw Zaw was arrested and his head and limbs were cut off. On March 2nd, 15 (15) local people, including women, were taken away as human shields while leaving Ta Tai Village.
2. The brutally murdered bodies of five (5) local people, who were taken as human shields, were found in Myeng Mu Myon District. It was found on March (2nd) near Nyaung Nyin village. The rest of the local people (10) were sent to Myeng Mu Myon, They continued to be captured and taken away in the column headed towards Nyaung Nyin village. Among them, the brutally murdered bodies of 3 local women and 6 men were found on the afternoon of March 2nd near the footbridge between Sagaing and Jem Mu.
3. 2023, the forces under the terrorist group On the 2nd of February, around 60 houses in Ta Tai Village, which has 78 houses, were destroyed by fire.
4. Intentional and inhumane killing of civilians like this is mass murder. War crimes As it is a violation of international crimes, including crimes against humanity, the Ministry of Human Rights has referred the incident to international legal mechanisms. The perpetrators will be punished step by step and will continue to strive for justice.
