Two tourists tragically lost their lives on the Indonesian resort island of Bali on December 10, when a large tree fell during a heavy rainstorm with strong winds. The victims, a 32-year-old from France and a 42-year-old from South Korea, were struck while walking along a path in Baliโ€™s Ubud Monkey Forest. A third tourist, also from South Korea, was injured and taken to a local hospital.

The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m. local time when strong winds and heavy rain swept through the area. Witnesses described the chaotic scene as tourists ran for cover, with some caught under the falling tree.

Footage of the incident, which has gone viral, shows the tree cracking before it crashes to the ground, sending visitors scrambling to escape. Among the footage, a toddler in a stroller can also be seen.

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary issued a statement expressing deep condolences and confirming that the fallen tree was healthy and regularly monitored. They emphasized their commitment to visitor safety. The sanctuary has temporarily closed the forest for further safety assessments.โฉ
